Low Fat is not always healthy

Low fat foods have been advertised for a good decade now as being effective for allowing overweight people to begin ridding their bodies of fat tissue. This could not be further from the truth as there is nothing healthy about these foods. Low fat foods are filled with sugar and are more likely to cause weight gain than weight loss . Yet millions of people continue to buy them because they honestly believe these foods are healthy.

For those who are not well versed on the subject of nutrition it would at first seem logical that consuming low fat foods would indeed be effective for weight loss . This because it would be much more healthy not to mention easier to lose weight by consuming diet to lose weight with the majority of the fat removed. Unfortunately this is not the case as the makers of low fat foods replace the removed fat with carbohydrates (sugar) in order to make the foods reasonably flavorful. Therefore those who eat these foods are consuming an excessive amount of carbohydrates in the form of pure sugar which in no way, shape or form could be considered healthy.

The most popular low fat foods include items such as pies, cakes, cookies, potato chips, ice cream, frozen yogurt and countless other desserts and pastries. Unbelievably the makers of these items have the nerve to put stickers on them which say "healthy" in big letters. It is hard to say whether people are simply ignorant on the subject of nutrition or just want to believe what they are being told which is that low fat, sugar filled junk foods are good dietary choices. Either way these foods continue to be purchased and consumed in large numbers yet as a nation we are less healthy today than ever before.

One of the most important dietary facts to remember is that excess carbohydrates get stored in the body as fat tissue and low fat foods are overflowing with excess carbohydrates. Nobody should be gullible enough to believe that pies, cakes, cookies, potato chips, ice cream, frozen yogurt, etc. are healthy foods that promote weight loss just because the fat has been removed. Meaning these low fat foods are still the pies, cakes, cookies, potato chips, ice cream, frozen yogurt, etc that help to make a person fat in the first place.
Foods that are healthy include high quality protein sources, fresh fruits and vegetables and in order to actually burn fat a dieter must consume the greater percentage of his or her calories in the form of protein while keeping carbohydrates to a minimum.

Non-Surgical Anti-aging Treatments

People have wanted to thwart the effect of aging for many years. They have tried dieting, exercising, different make-up and surgeries. Some have used strange concoctions from the internet or taken risky and high-priced journeys all over the world looking for the key to youth. Now, those looking for anti-don’t have to go to every corner of the globe or have unsafe or high-priced surgical procedures. If you want to seem to be years younger all you have to do is go to the chemist or a trained practitioner who will have the latest in scientific methods of treatment which will boost the skin and make you feel years younger.

Botox Facial Injections

One of the most fashionable anti-aging products is Botulinum toxin or Botox. Botox is a protein and neurotoxin and is often used to treat crow’s-feet, smoker’s lines, frown lines and other signs of aging. It is quite simple to use, somewhat inexpensive and very effectual. Botox has created a real stir that people all over the world are having Botox parties. People get together and have fun whilst a qualified practitioner administers the groups Botox to the group. At these parties or during a home or office visit Botox injections are given by dentists, dermatologists, and nurses among others. The results can last anywhere between four and eight months. There is little anxiety involved and results can be seen straight away and side effects such as redness and swelling will go in a day or two.

Laser Liposuction

Laser Liposuction is a great treatment which fights the signs of aging and also of being overweight. A laser is used to make fat cells open up and it goes into a liquid form. The location of the skin being treated has small incisions made and the fat is taken out using thin tubes thin tubes which are connected to the incisions. It is mainly used to treat the stomach, arms, buttocks, neck and thighs. A lot of people  like the treatment because it is fast, mainly pain-less and requires a short recovery time before a patient can get back to their normal routine unlike the invasive established liposuction methods where the recovery is longer and also more dangerous.

Other treatments available

There are many creams and potions which are also used by those looking to get younger looking skin. There are also a variety of treatments which eliminates dead skin and stimulates the tissue just underneath the outer dermis to give a smooth, fresher looking skin. These non-surgical treatments include peels and microneedling. Microneedling is a little roller which has tiny needles on it. This moves over the surface of the face making minuscule punctures into the skin. The punctures stimulate collagen to come to the exterior of the skin as it naturally heals injured skin. Results from this treatment give a younger, even looking face with no surgery involved. Another non-surgical treatment which has gained popularity is having facial filler treatment which works to fill out any lines and wrinkles as well as treating a sagging face or acne scars. You can visit a lot of cosmetic surgery practices these days for these kinds of treatments as well as the more traditional cosmetic procedures like face-lifts.

Look After Your Skin the Natural Way – With a Home Made Face Mask

Making your own face mask from everyday items that can be found in your fridge or store cupboard is a great way to look fabulous, save money and give your skin a boost. Here is my favourite ‘recipes’ to whip up a gorgeous treat for your face, whatever your skin type (and most of them taste great too!)
Dry

Use a super ripe banana (that would otherwise just be used in a banana cake!), mash it up and add a dollop of honey and a squeeze of lemon juice. Apply to your face and leave for 15-20 minutes before removing with a face cloth or cleansing sponge. This mask will soothe and care for your dry skin.

Normal or All Skin Types: Mash up a few strawberries with some natural yogurt and a drizzle of honey for a super luxurious mask for any skin type. Just pop it on, lie back and allow it to work for 10-15 minutes before rinsing. The yogurt will soothe and the strawberries will brighten your skin.

Oily: If you have oily skin which is prone to spots, try mashing some avocado with an egg white. Mix it well, add a squeeze of lime juice and apply to your skin for a few moments before rinsing off with warm water to leave your skin soft, smooth and clear.

Sensitive: Sensitive skin needs to be treated with extra care. Try softened, unsalted butter mixed with a spoonful of full-fat natural yogurt and some rolled porridge oats to relieve and look after your sensitive skin. Gorgeous!
For an extra vitamin boost, use Organic products if you can afford it. Use a natural mask once a week or so and you will be well on your way, to younger-looking, super-nourished, beautiful skin!

Smoking and oral health

Most people associate poor oral health with a diet laden with sugary foods and fizzy drinks or poor oral hygiene. However, smoking can also be a major contributor to oral health conditions. It is estimated that between 20 and 30 percent of the global population smoke. In developed countries, the number of smokers is decreasing steadily year by year but smoking is becoming more common in developing countries.

Smoking affects almost every organ and system in the body. It is linked to an increased risk of several different diseases and health conditions, from respiratory conditions to cancer and an increased risk of heart disease and strokes. Smoking also affects fertility.

How does smoking affect oral health?

Most people are aware that smoking has a detrimental effect on health, though the link between smoking and oral health problems is less well-documented. Smoking can increase the risk of decay and gum disease, as it increases the amount of bacteria present in the mouth and makes smokers vulnerable to oral health problems. Smoking also decreases the amount of oxygen in the blood supply, which means that the gums take longer to heal if they have become infected or inflamed. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss.

Smoking also affects the appearance of the teeth. Smokers often develop stains on the teeth and the teeth lose their natural whiteness and brightness. Over the course of time, the teeth may become heavily stained and look brown in appearance. Many people consider their smile their most important feature, and if their teeth are brown and stained, this may affect their confidence and make them reluctant to show off their teeth in public. There are ways of brightening the teeth and reducing the appearance of stains and whitening treatments have become very popular in recent years. However, if you carry on smoking, the teeth will gradually become stained again.

Oral cancer

As well as increasing the risk of gum disease, smoking is also a major risk factor for oral cancer, a disease which is becoming increasingly prevalent. Oral cancer kills more people than cervical and testicular cancer, yet many people are still unaware of the disease as it does not have a high media profile. According to Cancer Research UK, research shows that smokers have a three-fold increased risk of developing oral cancer. The International Agency for Research on Cancer has also confirmed that smokeless tobacco is also carcinogenic. Other risk factors for oral cancer include drinking, poor diet and exposure to the Human Papilloma Virus. According to researchers from Aberdeen University, people who smoke, drink and have a diet lacking in fruit and vegetables are twice as likely to develop oral cancer.

Stopping smoking

Giving up smoking will have almost instantaneous benefits for your health - your circulation will improve, you will find it easier to breathe, your risk of heart disease and strokes will steadily decrease, your risk of gum disease will decrease and your risk of developing cancer will also be reduced. You will also notice that your clothes, hair and breath don’t smell of smoke, your teeth appear cleaner and brighter and you’ll save a lot of money.

There are now hundreds of different programmes across the world to help people give up smoking; some are local programmes, while others are national campaigns. Some people prefer to go it alone, while others benefit from the support of counsellors or other people in a similar situation. There are also nicotine replacement therapies, such as chewing gum, patches and plastic cigarettes, which can help to reduce cravings.

Diet books that work

There are many diet books

in the internet but it’s hard to know the diet books that work. To find diet books that work you need to consider if they are advising the best food to lose weight and the right way to cook it.If you research the internet you’ll find pretty of good information scattered around the internet and because of that I rather advise getting diet books that work because that way you have all the information you need compiled into books which makes it much easier to access and use.So the main solution is finding diet books that work

and those are the ones that advise you to make meals with a lot of vegetables, fish, mollusks, vegetable derivates like tofu, cereals, cereals derivates like seitan, seeds, and fruit. Those are the main foods in which you should invest to have healthy and weight loss food.

Remember that the best way to cook is to grill, stew, boil, and bake but if you can eat the food without cooking even better, take as example vegetables that can be eaten raw. Never use oil to cook your food!

Miracles don’t happen especially when you want to lose weight so the best is to get diet books that work. Don’t trust fairy tales because those don’t work.

Don’t even think about buying diet pills because those might be bad for your health or ineffective.

And this is really important: with the diet change you should also do exercise, exercise improves your health and makes you lose calories which are the ones that make you gain weight. If you want visible results in a short space of time you should always exercise and use diet books that work.
