Look After Your Skin the Natural Way – With a Home Made Face Mask

Making your own face mask from everyday items that can be found in your fridge or store cupboard is a great way to look fabulous, save money and give your skin a boost. Here is my favourite ‘recipes’ to whip up a gorgeous treat for your face, whatever your skin type (and most of them taste great too!)
Dry

Use a super ripe banana (that would otherwise just be used in a banana cake!), mash it up and add a dollop of honey and a squeeze of lemon juice. Apply to your face and leave for 15-20 minutes before removing with a face cloth or cleansing sponge. This mask will soothe and care for your dry skin.

Normal or All Skin Types: Mash up a few strawberries with some natural yogurt and a drizzle of honey for a super luxurious mask for any skin type. Just pop it on, lie back and allow it to work for 10-15 minutes before rinsing. The yogurt will soothe and the strawberries will brighten your skin.

Oily: If you have oily skin which is prone to spots, try mashing some avocado with an egg white. Mix it well, add a squeeze of lime juice and apply to your skin for a few moments before rinsing off with warm water to leave your skin soft, smooth and clear.

Sensitive: Sensitive skin needs to be treated with extra care. Try softened, unsalted butter mixed with a spoonful of full-fat natural yogurt and some rolled porridge oats to relieve and look after your sensitive skin. Gorgeous!
For an extra vitamin boost, use Organic products if you can afford it. Use a natural mask once a week or so and you will be well on your way, to younger-looking, super-nourished, beautiful skin!

Smoking and oral health

Most people associate poor oral health with a diet laden with sugary foods and fizzy drinks or poor oral hygiene. However, smoking can also be a major contributor to oral health conditions. It is estimated that between 20 and 30 percent of the global population smoke. In developed countries, the number of smokers is decreasing steadily year by year but smoking is becoming more common in developing countries.

Smoking affects almost every organ and system in the body. It is linked to an increased risk of several different diseases and health conditions, from respiratory conditions to cancer and an increased risk of heart disease and strokes. Smoking also affects fertility.

How does smoking affect oral health?

Most people are aware that smoking has a detrimental effect on health, though the link between smoking and oral health problems is less well-documented. Smoking can increase the risk of decay and gum disease, as it increases the amount of bacteria present in the mouth and makes smokers vulnerable to oral health problems. Smoking also decreases the amount of oxygen in the blood supply, which means that the gums take longer to heal if they have become infected or inflamed. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss.

Smoking also affects the appearance of the teeth. Smokers often develop stains on the teeth and the teeth lose their natural whiteness and brightness. Over the course of time, the teeth may become heavily stained and look brown in appearance. Many people consider their smile their most important feature, and if their teeth are brown and stained, this may affect their confidence and make them reluctant to show off their teeth in public. There are ways of brightening the teeth and reducing the appearance of stains and whitening treatments have become very popular in recent years. However, if you carry on smoking, the teeth will gradually become stained again.

Oral cancer

As well as increasing the risk of gum disease, smoking is also a major risk factor for oral cancer, a disease which is becoming increasingly prevalent. Oral cancer kills more people than cervical and testicular cancer, yet many people are still unaware of the disease as it does not have a high media profile. According to Cancer Research UK, research shows that smokers have a three-fold increased risk of developing oral cancer. The International Agency for Research on Cancer has also confirmed that smokeless tobacco is also carcinogenic. Other risk factors for oral cancer include drinking, poor diet and exposure to the Human Papilloma Virus. According to researchers from Aberdeen University, people who smoke, drink and have a diet lacking in fruit and vegetables are twice as likely to develop oral cancer.

Stopping smoking

Giving up smoking will have almost instantaneous benefits for your health - your circulation will improve, you will find it easier to breathe, your risk of heart disease and strokes will steadily decrease, your risk of gum disease will decrease and your risk of developing cancer will also be reduced. You will also notice that your clothes, hair and breath don’t smell of smoke, your teeth appear cleaner and brighter and you’ll save a lot of money.

There are now hundreds of different programmes across the world to help people give up smoking; some are local programmes, while others are national campaigns. Some people prefer to go it alone, while others benefit from the support of counsellors or other people in a similar situation. There are also nicotine replacement therapies, such as chewing gum, patches and plastic cigarettes, which can help to reduce cravings.

Diet books that work

There are many diet books

in the internet but it’s hard to know the diet books that work. To find diet books that work you need to consider if they are advising the best food to lose weight and the right way to cook it.If you research the internet you’ll find pretty of good information scattered around the internet and because of that I rather advise getting diet books that work because that way you have all the information you need compiled into books which makes it much easier to access and use.So the main solution is finding diet books that work

and those are the ones that advise you to make meals with a lot of vegetables, fish, mollusks, vegetable derivates like tofu, cereals, cereals derivates like seitan, seeds, and fruit. Those are the main foods in which you should invest to have healthy and weight loss food.

Remember that the best way to cook is to grill, stew, boil, and bake but if you can eat the food without cooking even better, take as example vegetables that can be eaten raw. Never use oil to cook your food!

Miracles don’t happen especially when you want to lose weight so the best is to get diet books that work. Don’t trust fairy tales because those don’t work.

Don’t even think about buying diet pills because those might be bad for your health or ineffective.

And this is really important: with the diet change you should also do exercise, exercise improves your health and makes you lose calories which are the ones that make you gain weight. If you want visible results in a short space of time you should always exercise and use diet books that work.

There are basically two types of probiotics that are classified into two groups. These two are called lactobacillus or bifidobacterium. These two types of probiotics have their own set of properties that make them unique and may help your digestive system in different ways.

Lactobacillus is a probiotic that is useful in treating diarrhea in children. It is used commonly to help treat problems with the digestive system. It may be able to help treat people with irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, inflammation of the colon, and problems with ulcers.

Calcium and Heart Attack Risk

If you take a daily calcium supplement, you should probably talk to your doctor. A study done in 2010 showed an increased risk of having a heart attack among those who took calcium daily. While the risk might be justified for some people, many others have decided the risk simply wasn't worth it.

Many people, particularly the elderly and the aging, take daily calcium supplements. Calcium is a leading mineral in bone health, and some take the supplement to help prevent osteoporosis or to strengthen bones at any age. The benefits of taking the calcium is one that's a bit controversial, as some doctors highly recommend supplements while others feel they do little good. The results of the study might sway some toward avoiding the recommendation of supplements in the future.

The average age of the close to 12,000 participants was 72, with more than half of them being women. To prove a cause between calcium supplements and heart attacks, the participants were split up and given either a placebo or calcium supplement. About 2.7% of those who took the calcium supplement had a heart attack during the four-year study, compared to the 2.2% of people who took the placebo. While .5% might seem like a negligible difference to most of us, the researchers thought it to be significant.

Many people take calcium daily to boost their overall health, and it is included in almost all multi-vitamin and mineral supplements that people take daily. Even if the increased risk of a heart attack is a small one, that daily calcium usage could be contributing to a number of heart attacks among all age groups.

While the researchers don't yet understand what about the calcium supplements actually contributed to the heart attacks, they believe the statistics are reason enough to avoid taking calcium unless it's medically necessary for another reason, which is rare. And many doctors don't believe that taking calcium will affect osteoporosis or bone health enough to warrant the risk.
They do make a point of telling people not to avoid calcium in their diets, altogether. Dietary calcium is necessary for good health and shouldn't be limited. It's the supplements themselves that seem to have the negative effect, which surprised many scientists. Previous studies had shown that calcium supplements were healthy and may have even had a protective effect in the body.

The final result of the study led researchers to state that older people who were taking about 500 mg of calcium per day may be increasing their risk of having a heart attack by 30%. If you take a calcium supplement, you should talk to your doctor and find out if the true potential benefits are worth that increased risk.

It is important to note though, that people who also take vitamin D supplements, a vitamin that reacts with calcium and encourages its absorption, were not included in the study. Some people take the combination for specific health reasons and shouldn't stop before talking to their doctor. Whether or not the calcium might increase risk of heart attack in these patients hasn't been determined.

For most people, it still might be best to get calcium the old-fashioned way. Make sure you eat a diet rich in low-fat dairy, fruits and vegetables.

7 Essential Tips On How To Avoid Having Frizzy Hair Ends

There are many contributing factors to frizzy hair. Some of the few causes behind frizzy hair tips are humidity and damage from heat styling products. Nourish your hair with hair argan oil and follow these tips to help you solve frizzy hair end problems:

Utilize products that moisturize the hair

Rough and dry hair tends to have frizzy tips. Learn to apply moisturizers to your hair to solve this problem. Apply moisturizing shampoo and conditioner when you wash your hair. Also, use a leave-on conditioner every time your hair becomes dry. Use your fingers to rub the leave-on conditioner on your hair.

Turn your frizzy hair to curls with mousse or curl-defining hair products

Using mousse or a curl-defining cream can help you achieve curly hair out from your frizzy locks. Purchase them at a drugstore. Use a diffuser attachment on a medium-cool setting to blow-dry your hair. To set the curls, quickly spray a light hairspray.

Hair must be deeply conditioned at least once a weak

Remember that at least once a week, your hair must be deep conditioned. Purchase a conditioning cream and let it sit on your hair for 30 minutes. Oil-based products can contribute to frizz so make sure that you use cream as a deep conditioner. Styling treatments and chemical products like hair dyes can make your hair dry, so when using these products, make sure you deep condition your hair.

Gently dry your hair by patting

After showering, make sure you pat your hair dry with a soft towel. Rubbing your hair can cause it to become rough and dry, thus refrain from doing so. Any excess water on your hair can be squeezed out by using a soft towel.

Don't wash your hair every day

Washing your hair can strip it of its natural moisture and oils. If you have frizzy hair, it is more advisable to wash your hair only when necessary and use a shampoo that is sulfate-free and does not contain any harsh chemicals. Furthermore, never use hot water in washing your hair as it can cause the hair to be drier; use lukewarm water instead.

Avoid using heat styling devices

One of the common causes of frizzy hair is damage caused by heat styling devices like flat irons and curling irons. Not until your hair becomes healthy again, it is strongly recommended to avoid heat styling devices especially when you are usually fond of using them. Additionally, when using these heat styling devices, make sure to apply heat protectant.

Regularly trim the tips of your hair

Regular hair trimming should be an essential part of your hair care routine. Getting your hair trimmed 4 times a year is advisable. Also, avoid using razors for cutting the hair as this can cause split ends.

Getting your dream hair can only be achieved by learning the proper hair care tips and using the right products.
